Best practices

Small habits that make the difference between using NOTIWOO and really getting value out of it.

Before starting your shift

  • Make sure NOTIWOO is open and your session is active.
  • Turn up the device volume and test the notification sound.
  • Verify the printer is on, has paper and that automatic printing is enabled only on the device that prints.
  • Glance at Orders to make sure nothing from the previous shift is pending.

During the shift

  • Move every order to processing as it comes in: marking it Processing as you start preparing it avoids confusion when several orders are running at once.
  • Use the internal order note for non-obvious details: pickup time, allergies confirmed by phone, delivery instructions.
  • Don't open NOTIWOO on too many tabs: one tab per station is enough.
  • Don't cancel by accident: if you're unsure, leave the order On hold and check with the right person.

Multi-station

If you work with several devices (kitchen, bar, register, courier):

  • Only one device prints: keep automatic printing active only on the one with the printer. If you need two copies on the same machine, use Number of copies in the printer settings.
  • Increase the number of copies if you need one ticket for the kitchen and another for the floor.
  • Each employee with their own account whenever possible: it makes audit trails easier.
  • Agree on a color or prefix code for the internal note (e.g. prefix 🍳 for kitchen notes, 🛵 for courier notes).

Weekly routine

  • Review Statistics:
    • New peak hours? Reinforce staff.
    • Any top-5 product worth a special promotion?
    • Is the cancellation rate rising? Investigate causes (stock, payment, delays).
  • Clean up expired coupons you no longer use.
  • Look at inactive customers: they're an opportunity for a campaign.
  • Export the sales CSV and keep it as a historical backup.

Monthly routine

  • Keep the category tree tidy and free of duplicates.
  • Audit duplicate extras ("Extra cheese" vs "Cheese extra").
  • Confirm the active tags reflect your current campaigns.
  • Check that the license key is still valid.

When something fails

  1. Reproduce the problem once more to rule out a one-off.
  2. Note down what happened, when and on which screen.
  3. Check Troubleshooting: it covers the common failures.
  4. If nothing works, email support@notiwoo.com with:
    • The order ID affected (if any).
    • A screenshot of the error.
    • Browser and operating system you use.
    • Mark it as urgent in the subject if applicable.
Key habit

Spend 5 minutes at the end of your shift glancing at Orders and Statistics. It's the best way to spot trends and close the day calmly.
